weekend recap.

we had a fun weekend here in the FoFandee household: a little relaxing, a little productiveness, and lots of sunshine and high temps. let's recap, shall we?

on Friday morning, Mr. Ronin had his 9 month wellness check up. Sean left work for a bit to come with us to the appointment. little dude is super healthy and remaining steady in the 25th percentile for his age. he now weighs 18lbs 14oz and is 28 inches long - such a long and lanky boy! I didn't really have any questions for our pediatrician this month, so the appointment went pretty quickly. he did have to get one vaccine (hepB), which was NOT fun, obviously. he screamed bloody murder, but luckily, I had a nice big bottle ready for him afterward.

oh, and I haven't even taken his 9 month photos yet, because this squirmy seal will NOT stay on his back. he screams bloody murder when I change his diaper or try to get him dressed, so laying on his back for photos is not really an option right now, haha. little punk.

since the weather was so nice, we spent the rest of the afternoon out on the patio. Sean came home from work and grilled some pork chops and after dinner, it was time to start the sleep learning. the program we're following noted that it would probably take an hour for him to fall asleep on the first night, and while it doesn't sound like a long time, hearing a baby cry for an hour is absolutely heartbreaking. I will elaborate more on our experience so far, but it's going surprisingly well!

on Saturday, we spent a majority of the day doing typical cleaning around the house, and then we met up with Sean's parent's to enjoy some crabs & cold beer in Annapolis. the crabs were huge and heavy, but Ronin was kinda sick of being a highchair after a while, so we took turns holding him while the other ate.

I hosted our monthly book club meeting at my house on Sunday. although there were only 6 of us, we had a great time just chatting (barely about the book, ha!) and enjoying some yummy food. after the ladies left, we headed out to Target to pick up a few a bunch of things, including another bathing suit for the mister and some paper goods for his birthday party. no pictures from Sunday, but it was a nice day. :)

hope your weekend was fun! we've been having some great weather here in Maryland, albeit, a bit on the HOT side. that just means we get some early pool days! woohoo!

baby registry must haves [nitty-gritty]

these are items that everyone should have on their registry. yes, every baby is different and blah blah blah, and while brand names may vary for a few (Soothie vs. MAM, etc), this is a pretty universal list in my opinion. I only learned about these baby essentials from other moms, and I'm SO glad I did.

1. Angel Dear Blankies.
Ronin has two of these (the tiger and the blue hippo) and absolutely LOVES them. he sleeps with one every single night. he mostly cuddles it, but occasionally enjoys chewing on it too.

don't worry, they're completely breathable. I slept with one on my face to be sure.

2. Vulli Vanilla Teethers.
we have Sophie too (to be reviewed in another post), but these things are golden. they are much easier for little hands to grip. I feel like these feel better on his gums because they're harder than the rubber that Sophie is made of. and? they smell like vanilla!

3. Baby K'Tan Carrier.
when researching carriers, I was pretty overwhelmed by 1, the many different kinds out there, and 2, how the hell to actually wear a baby in them. the Baby K'tan solved all my insecurities. instead of a continuous length of fabric, it's separated into two loops that work to create different positions for baby based on his/her age and comfort ability. very easy to use and (most) babies love to be snug up against mama.

it comes in handy when I'm doing things around the house and when I'm out shopping. Ronin prefers to be carried to his car seat/stroller, so I take it with me everywhere. lugging around a baby in your arms is tiring after a while. it's incredibly comfortable for me too because the double loop design allows for lower back support.

4. Exergen Temporal Artery Thermometer.
let me preface this by saying that the most accurate way to take a baby's temperature is rectally. however, when your baby is sick and sleeping, you are sure as hell not going to want to wake him up to stick a thermometer up his butt. I've found that, when used correctly, this thermometer is accurate and non-invasive. however, when Ronin is awake and I need to take his temperature, I use a rectal thermometer.

5. Aden + Anais Muslin Swaddle Wraps.
you will hear it from many moms - these blankets are the BEST for swaddling. they are light, soft, and super stretchy to make sure your burrito baby is nice and snug. they're pricey, but worth it. even though we don't swaddle anymore, we still use these daily.

brand new Ronin!

6. Little Tummys Gripe Water.
in the first few sleep deprived days of motherhood, I gave Ronin Gripe Water. he was screaming after meals and with him being so new, I didn't have a clue as to what was wrong, so I assumed it was gas. Gripe Water is a natural remedy for colic and gastrointestinal discomfort, containing ginger and fennel. worked like a charm, every single time. later on, I learned a few tricks to help prevent and treat the gassiness, but I loved having this on hand when I didn't know what the hell was going on.

7. Safety First Nail Clipper.
dudes. clipping baby nails is ridiculous. they're little fingers are so incredibly tiny that if you slip, you will cut their whole finger right off. that probably won't really happen, but trust me when I say that clipping them while they're sleeping is SO much easier than when they're awake. my BFF actually gave me these after I complained for the 3948th time about accidentally clipping Ronin's nails too short. these clippers have a little light built in so that you can see those teeny little talons in the dark.

8. Phillips Avent Soothie Pacifier.
pacifiers are a personal preference for babies, but I liked the Soothie ones because I was trying to avoid nipple confusion. now Ronin will not take any other kind of pacifier (and honestly, he only uses it to fall asleep and then he spits it out), and I'm totally okay with it. sucking is a natural soothing method for babies, and giving baby a pacifier at night also helps to prevent SIDS.

9. Hyland's Homeopathic Teething Tablets.
Ronin started experiencing teething discomfort at around 4.5-5 months. I didn't feel comfortable constantly dosing him with Tylenol, so I ordered these (which came highly recommended from a few moms who also prefer homeopathic remedies) in a 2 pack from Amazon. they dissolve instantly when placed under baby's tongue and help with teething pain. I don't know what it is in them that helps, but they work like Valium, so they make it on the list.

10. Boogie Wipes.
we are currently all getting over the cold from hell... I'm talking about 10+ days of stuffy noses, chest congestion, and SNOT EVERYWHERE. Boogie Wipes are soaked in saline as opposed to alcohol, so while they clean up snotty noses, they also help to loosen any mucous in the nostrils without drying them out. needless to say, we've gone through an entire pack in a weekend.

39 week appointment update

so I had a regular OB appointment this morning.
a few things I wanted to mention to my doctor:
- the ever lasting itching of my belly (which is now joined by raised bumps within my stretch marks);
- Ronin's decreased movement (he's still moving, but not nearly as much as he has been throughout the pregnancy... I've chalked it up to him running out of room, but wanted to make sure);
- and I wanted a cervical check (to make sure these contractions are actually doing their job).

so, an update to those specific issues, in bullet form:

- the itching belly started about a week and a half ago. I mentioned it to my nurse practitioner at my last appointment, and she just shrugged it off as a normal pregnancy symptom. I spent the next week trying to combat the itch with hyrocortisone topical cream, calamine lotion, cocoa butter, and tea tree oil. they all provided temporary relief, but when the itch eventually came back, it was just as miserable (if not more) than it was before applying the cream, lotion, butter, or oil.

I decided I didn't want to just blow it off, so I brought it up to my OB this morning. turns out... itchiness + raised bumps = PUPPP. she prescribed me an oral steroid that I have to take for 5 days, and it should help. woo to the freaking hoo... I can't WAIT to have some relief from this shit. it is misery. absolute MISERY.

- she sent me to labor and delivery to monitor Ronin's movement. as expected, he made me into a liar by doing somersaults and showing off for the nurse in triage. also? I could listen to this kid's heartbeat all day everyday and never get sick of it. I'm going to miss that part of being pregnant.

- as I mentioned in my 39 week bump watch post, I was a fingertip dilated at my appointment on Friday (I know, I know... you're all very curious as to what the status of my cervix is). she checked me again today, and said I was 50% effaced and 3cm dilated - holy cow, talk about PROGRESS! I am so happy to know that my body is doing what it's supposed to do and that these contractions are not for nothing.

however... on the back end of that awesomeness: my doctor does not want to let me go very far over my due date because of my continuously high blood pressure. she's worried that it will get too high if he decides to take his time, which will probably lead to a C-section. so with that said, we have an induction scheduled for next week (waiting to hear from labor & delivery on the date, but it will be either Wednesday or Thursday) if he doesn't make his way into the world on his own. I've been scared of being induced since the beginning of this pregnancy, so obviously I'm hoping he gets his shit together before next week. personally, I think he'll be here by the weekend, but I've learned that I am officially on HIS schedule now, so I'm not holding my breath.

so that's where we are now... just waiting for him to make his move. after my appointment (and subsequent internal exam), I had some serious cramping going on. it was so intense that I was really convinced the exam had done something to jump start my labor. let's just say that I am thankful to have absolutely no qualms about receiving an epidural, cause I am a big old wuss. I was in so much pain just after a simple cervical check and here I am getting ready to push a watermelon out of my vag. bring on the drugs, damnit.

baby Q bump watch - week 38

38 weeks! heading to physical therapy, feeling like crud after a crappy couple nights of sleep.

how far along?
38 weeks.

how big is the baby?
he's weighing in at about 6.8lbs and measuring a bit over 19.5 inches long. his organs are mature enough to be ready for life outside the womb at this point.

total weight gain:
27lbs so far.

sleep:
so annoying. I was up until 3am the other night for no reason at all, and then last night I was up until 1:30am. I'm so thankful I'm on bed rest, cause lots of naps are happenin' around this house.

best moment of the week:
oh geez, lots of good things happened over the week:
1. we finally got the crib put together! I love it. it's so perfect. it was super easy to build, too.

2. I also put together Ronin's bookcase. it needs to be filled, but it's getting there!

3. we went up to Baltimore on Saturday evening to enjoy some delicious (aka the best in Maryland) crab cakes at one of our favorite restaurants.

4. I had dinner with my BFF and another great friend last night... it was nice to have some girl time (and a glass of delicious moscato).

5. we got our maternity pictures back! they are absolutely beautiful, not that I had any doubt in Jen's talents. I am so blown away by them and I'm so glad we made the decision to do them. I'll share my favorites once I upload the photos to the computer, but this link will take you to a sneak peak. ;)

also, an important event to be mentioned:
on Thursday, I was sent over to labor & delivery after my weekly appointment, due to my OB's concerns regarding my blood pressure and my recent headaches. they wanted to run some labs (blood work and urine analysis) to make sure I did not develop pre-eclampsia. thankfully, everything came back PERFECT, so I didn't have to be admitted. I had a cervical check at my OB's office, and we are 100% high and closed, which means no effacement and no dilation as of yet. looks like Ronin is going to take his sweet time, which is fine with mama!

food cravings:
carbs, carbs, carbs.

food aversions:
nothing really.

symptoms:
everything, haha. no contractions yet though!

gender sex:
BOY! :D

most looking forward to:
getting more stuff done around the house. we're pretty much just waiting on him to be ready at this point. I am so excited to meet and snuggle his cute little face.

what I miss right now:
my weekly paycheck. this is the first time I've ever been unemployed in 12 years, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss that money.

next appointment:
Friday morning.

baby Q bump watch - week 36

are those crickets I hear? so sorry for the absence around here - I've been spending a lot of time resting at home and getting the house ready for Ronin, so I haven't had much time to blog. I do plan on working on the Thirty Thangs challenge this week, though.

how far along?
36 weeks/9 freaking MONTHS.

how big is the baby?
Ronin weighs in at about 6lbs and measures about 18.5 inches long. he is shedding the downy covering of hair that covers his body, as well as the vernix caseosa (the waxy substance that has protected his skin during his time in the womb), both of which he will ingest. those, along with other substances, will make up the meconium that he will pass during his first bowel movements.

total weight gain:
25lbs so far.

sleep:
sleep? what sleep?

best moment of the week:
we finally did maternity photos over the weekend with the fabulous Jen Lowe, who was also our wedding photographer. last night, I packed our hospital bag (minus items used everyday like toothbrushes and phone chargers), and I also separated all his NB and 0-3 month clothing to be washed today. our friend Jessica visited last week and further spoiled Ronin with lots of awesome gifts and clothes.

food cravings:
lots of fresh fruit.

food aversions:
nothing really.

symptoms:
I've got it all (sleeplessness, headaches, pelvic pain, swollen feet, leaky breasts, heartburn/acid reflux, carpal tunnel, constipation, etc). I've even been having some Braxton Hicks contractions over the last week. I'm breathing a little easier though, so I think he may have dropped since last week.

gender sex:
BOY! :D

most looking forward to:
we didn't do shit in the nursery last weekend, so this weekend will consist of that. we will also have an ultrasound at my appointment on Friday, so it will be awesome to see the little nugget. OH, and we'll be celebrating our 3rd anniversary this weekend (actual anniversary is next Wednesday)!

what I miss right now:
being able to go an hour without peeing.

next appointment:
Friday.

baby Q bump watch - week 35

how far along?
35 weeks! that means we only have 35 days to go!

how big is the baby?
according to Baby Center, Ronin weighs about 5.25lbs and measures about 18 inches long. his kidneys are fully developed and his liver can process some waste. his testes have most likely fully descended, too. most of his basic physical development is complete at this point, so the next few weeks will be spent plumping up.

total weight gain:
I'm guessing 24lbs.

sleep:
on and off, depending on the status of my pelvis and my husband's snoring. also, I think I may have been having some contractions last night, but I'm not sure.

best moment of the week:
getting most of the stuff left on our BRU registry, making a final to-do list, and getting a much needed pedicure over the weekend.

a mile long to-do list.

food cravings:
fresh fruit - peaches, watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew, etc. <---- yep, same as last week.

food aversions:
nothing really.

symptoms:
with the exception of Braxton Hicks contractions, I've got it all (sleeplessness, headaches, pelvic pain, swollen feet, leaky breasts, heartburn/acid reflux, carpal tunnel, constipation, etc).

and I will be adding vision changes to this as well - I've been seeing moving spots the past few days. and I think (TMI ALERT) that I may be starting to lose some of my mucous plug, not that it means anything, because some women lose it weeks before delivery and some don't notice it at all. either way, I'll be bringing up both of these issues to my OB on Thursday.

gender sex:
BOY! :D

most looking forward to:
uhh, everything. the nursery is not even CLOSE to being done, so we will be spending the ENTIRE weekend doing that. my last day of work is next Wednesday (WOOHOO!), so after that, I will be quite the little nesting busy bee getting the house prepared for Ronin's arrival.

OH, and my BFF is coming home from NYC this weekend, and I can't wait to see her and her handsome hubs!

what I miss right now:
being comfortable in general. and beer. I could really go for a beer.

next appointment:
Thursday.

baby Q bump watch - week 34

34 weeks, 1 day. holla.

how far along?
34 weeks (34 weeks, 2 days today, technically).

how big is the baby?
little boy weighs about 4.75lbs (like a cantaloupe) and measures almost 18" long. his fat layers are filling him out, which will allow him to regulate his temperature better. he is now recognizing and reacting to songs sung by Mama, and will (fingers crossed!) be soothed by them once outside the womb.

total weight gain:
up another 4lbs, for a total of 23lbs gained. I guess not gaining any weight for the first 20 weeks is finally catching up to me! ;)

sleep:
still on and off. some nights are great, some are down right shitty.

best moment of the week:
I went to a breastfeeding class last night and am SO GLAD I did. I feel so much more confident that breastfeeding will be a success for our family, given that it's extremely rare that a woman cannot physically breastfeed. there are a lot of misconceptions and myths out there regarding breastfeeding, so it's refreshing to feel a little more informed.

my physical therapist successfully realigned my pelvis, which is awesome (it's stayed correctly positioned for over a week now), and it's really helped with the pain.

food cravings:
fresh fruit - peaches, watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew, etc.

food aversions:
nothing really.

symptoms:
with the exception of Braxton Hicks contractions, I've got it all (sleeplessness, headaches, pelvic pain, swollen feet, leaky breasts, heartburn/acid reflux, carpal tunnel, constipation, etc).

gender sex:
BOY! :D

most looking forward to:
finally finishing the painting in the nursery this weekend, a much needed pedicure on Saturday, and maternity pictures with Jen Lowe on Sunday (we had to reschedule last weekend due to weather). also? I have less than 2 weeks left of work. HALLELUJAH.

what I miss right now:
honestly? it really sucks to not be able to see your own vagina.

next appointment:
I had an appointment this morning, and because of my pre-eclampsia symptoms, I will go back in a week (the 26th) instead of the usual 2 week break. my blood work from last week was fine, but my headaches have been getting worse and my blood pressure is still high, so my OB is a tad concerned.

baby Q related updates

whew! we have had a LOT going on last week, hence the lack of a shower post. however, Kaley posted about it here, so you can hop over there to check it out!

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

on the home front, the nursery is FINALLY painted. all I have left to do is the trim, and then I can finally start to put together furniture. we picked up a couple more odds and ends this weekend, mostly decor related... like this clock. I have a feeling I'll be working on his room until I go into labor, haha. for now, here are some photos of the painted walls - please note that these photos do NOT do the color justice.

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

I had a doctor's appointment on Friday, which revealed high blood pressure AGAIN (although it did go down by the end of my appointment), so my doctor now wants me to monitor my BP at home on a daily basis and record it. she also doesn't want me working in my office while the air conditioning isn't running properly, so I'll be working from home on the really brutal heat wave days. other than that, everything is A-okay with little baby Q.

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

I had a prenatal massage on Saturday afternoon, courtesy of a birthday gift from my BFF, Kaycie. it was so amazing that I scheduled another one for the beginning of August. it was just what I needed (especially on such a hot day) and I felt so relaxed afterward. I'm kind of kicking myself that I didn't indulge in the pampering earlier on!
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

yesterday, I had an appointment with a physical therapist for my pelvis. it turns out that my pelvis is misaligned (probably due to the stretching and pulling of ligaments during the pregnancy), which has been causing my pain for months on end. I'm going to start seeing her twice a week to work on strengthening my pelvic muscles, even though it goes against what my body is doing (loosening and softening around the pelvis) in order to prepare for child birth.

I had sushi (the cooked kind, thank you very much) with some friends on Friday evening. my friend Katie brought a gift for Ronin - two little preppy rompers and the cutest little baby sunglasses. I am really considering bringing them to the hospital and making him wear them right away.

Happy Tuesday, friends! :)

baby Q bump watch - week 31

so I had my bi-weekly appointment this morning, and it looks as though I might be developing pre-eclampsia. my blood pressure was slightly elevated and there were trace amounts of protein in my urine. they took my blood pressure again at the end of my appointment, and it had gone down, which is great. they're going to keep an eye on everything over the next couple weeks, and if my BP and protein continue to be an issue, they will probably be putting me on bed rest. whomp WHOMP.

my biggest worry is that pre-eclampsia usually leads to induction, which is not something I wanted at all. however, as we all know, things hardly ever go according to plan, especially when it comes to child birth. so whatever comes my way, I'll try to be as prepared as possible, but I'm still keeping fingers crossed that baby boy stays in there as long as he can and we can go into labor on our own.

also, my camera on my phone wasn't working this morning, so here's a photo from Saturday instead of my actual 31 week photo. I'll take a bump pic tonight with hubs' phone and post it tomorrow.

30 weeks, 4 days.
dress from Old Navy.

how far along?
31 weeks.

how big is the baby?
Ronin now weighs about 3.3lbs (Baby Center), measures over 16 inches long, and is the size of a squash (via The Bump). all his senses are in working order, although he won't get to smell anything until he makes his way to the outside world. he's beginning to plump out as he accumulates more fat on his body.

total weight gain:
as of today, 14lbs.

sleep:
some nights are better than others. getting comfortable is the hardest part, and getting in and out of bed to pee at night is quite painful for my pelvis. Ronin seems to be super active at night, which wakes me up pretty often. thankfully, Sean isn't snoring much these days (he claims it's the new mattress, ha).

best moment of the week:
seeing lots of friends at Kullen's birthday party, and hearing the little seal's heartbeat today... that sound never gets old. also, Sean's aunt bought me a breast pump, which had me way more excited than I probably should have been, haha. our new mattress is awesome, too.

food cravings:
anything sweet and fresh - melons, sweet corn, popsicles. <--- same this week. I cannot get enough watermelon.

food aversions:
anything real heavy.

symptoms:
sleeplessness? check.
heartburn/reflux? check.
pelvic pain? check.
shortness of breath? check.
leaky nips? check.
stretch marks? sadly, check.
pregnancy brain? check.
swollen feet? check.
carpal tunnel? check!
I'd say I've got it all.
the only thing I haven't really experienced yet is Braxton Hicks contractions.

gender sex:
BOY! :D

most looking forward to:
my baby shower on Saturday, hosted by my BFF and my mother-in-law. I can't wait to celebrate little baby Q with friends and family. :)

what I miss right now:
walking normally, haha.

next appointment:
July 6th.

baby Q bump watch - week 28

ugh, late post this week guys. we flew to Florida for our friends' wedding on Friday, and I just happened to wake up with a sore throat that same day. I spent the weekend hacking up my lungs, and was diagnosed with bronchitis when we returned on Sunday. I spent two days in bed and am finally starting to feel better. I was so swamped with work yesterday that I didn't get a chance to post a bumpdate. but anyway...

WOOHOO! hello 3rd trimester!
along with the start of the final trimester, we began our birth classes this week. it's a 4 week course offered by our hospital and the class is one night a week for 2 hours. the first class was... a little scary, to be honest. I mean, obviously, I know I will be (hopefully) pushing a child out of my hoo-ha... but I guess I've been so happy and in pregnancy la-la land that reality hasn't really hit... until I saw what 10 centimeters looks like. and guys? it's big. I don't know why, but I am suddenly terrified of child birth. eeks.

this was taken on Tuesday (28 weeks) when I was home sick... hence the no makeup, no bra, no pants.
also, hubs has a new (earlier) work schedule so I will be taking mirror photos from now on, unless I can remember to get him to take a picture when I get home from work.

how far along?
28 weeks... aka 7 months (!!!)... aka 3rd trimester. :)

how big is the baby?
according to Baby Center, Ronin weighs about 2.25lbs and is 14.8 inches long from head to heel (the size of an eggplant). he can now blink his eyes and may even be able to see the light that filters in through the womb. he is developing billions of neurons in his brain and is accumulating more body fat in preparation for life outside the womb.

total weight gain:
I'm not certain, but I think I'm up about 10lbs now. I'll know tomorrow for sure.

sleep:
shitty, shitty, shitty. I cannot get comfortable to save my life. I've also been having lots of reflux lately, which makes laying down a pain. and Sean's snoring makes me want to stab something.

best moment of the week:
oh man, hard to choose! our 3D ultrasound was fucking amazing - it was SO cool to see his little chubby face in there. and despite my being sick, our trip to Florida was so nice - the Keane wedding was an absolute blast (see photo below) and the beach in Destin was heavenly.

photo booth fun!
dress from Old Navy.
also, baby kicks never get old - it seems like he's getting stronger by the day and his movements have become more defined. some days he rocks my whole belly around and it looks crazy! I can definitely tell "where" he is by his movements.

food cravings:
anything cold. mostly popsicles.

food aversions:
anything that causes heartburn/reflux.

symptoms:
the pelvic pain is only getting worse and I'm finding myself to be really out of breath lately too, thanks to big boy pushing on my diaphragm. my feet have been swelling a bit and my nipples are still leaking (but not much at all).

gender sex:
big BOY! :D

most looking forward to:
our glider arrives this weekend, and we'll be painting the room sometime in the next week. we finally chose a color (yesterday, actually), so now we just have to pick up a gallon and get to work. I'm excited to start putting furniture together and getting his room ready. :)

what I miss right now:
sleeping on my stomach and being able to breathe.

next appointment:
tomorrow afternoon - regular check up and glucose test. fun!

6 things that make me happy today and a photo

1. we had an amazing time in Atlantic City on Saturday, and the memories that were made were very special... and hilarious. we started the morning off with mimosas (I'm talking 10AM) and didn't end until the bus ride home around 8PM. needless to say, it was a damn good day.

2. I'm down another 2lbs. I haven't been doing anything crazy, but I've recently started to really watch my eating habits. I've also been making sure to park far away from my buildings at school so that I have to walk further and taking the stairs everywhere. either way, it feels good.

3. we booked our flights for our friends' wedding in St. Thomas. SO EXCITED. once we get the rooms booked, we'll be all set.

4. being domestic. yesterday I spent a majority of the day doing things around the house - I scooped the litter boxes, did ALL the dishes, completed a few loads of laundry, vacuumed all the floors, took the trash out, completed this map project, and made dinner that was ready as soon as Sean walked in the door. productivity = happiness.

5. I finally have a hair appointment set for this weekend and I cannot wait. I'm contemplating doing this. I am not cutting my hair (only a trim), so I figure I can pull this off until my next appointment, when it's faded. thoughts?

6. I'm skipping art class tonight. I didn't do my homework (see #4), and I have tons of stuff I need to do around the house... like hanging said map project, making another canvas painting, and grocery shopping. I'm also going to make this for dinner tonight. Sean is in complete shock that I'm cooking dinner two nights in a row. to be honest, I am too. ha!

and just so this post isn't completely photo-less, here's what we did all day Saturday.

what are you happy about today?

Happy Monday!
