I will have a shower post ready later this week/weekend. we mid-Atlantic folks had a huge storm come through Friday night, knocking out power in about 500,000 local homes. the baby shower was almost a disaster, but my awesome hosts pulled it together miraculously, and it was a great success. little Ronin is SO spoiled and loved already - Sean & I are incredibly lucky to be surrounded by such gracious people.
and thankfully, we have electricity. Friday & Saturday night were pretty brutal (we were running errands/showering it up all day Saturday). never again do I want to experience a power outage in the middle of a heat wave while 8 months pregnant. talk about misery.

32 weeks/8 months!
how big is the baby?
baby now weighs approximately 3.75lbs and is measuring about 16.7 inches long. he is likely in the head down position now and is probably feeling a lot more cramped these days. Ronin will gain a third to one half of his weight in the next 8 weeks as he fattens up for survival outside the womb.

I'm going to guess 15lbs.
sleep:
some nights are okay, some are terrible. it really just depends on how tired I am and how many times I have to get out of bed. getting in and out of bed is quite painful these days.
best moment of the week:
hands down, my baby shower. I feel so blessed to know that so many people love this little boy so much already. we got SO much stuff, and I am so grateful for every single gift. Kaley did an amazing job decorating and my MIL cooked the most delicious food for everyone. here's a sneak peek of Kaley's hard work (stolen from Heather @ Best of Both Worlds!):

symptoms:
everything under the sun. the third trimester really is a peach, I tell ya what.

working on the nursery tomorrow & Friday, my prenatal massage on Saturday afternoon, and my appointment with the physical therapist next week (for my pelvic pain).

being able to walk without wincing in pain.

ReplyDeleteO my goodness. We had the terrible storm also. We lost power Friday night around 6pm and then finally got it back at 1am on Sunday. I was so happy that we got our power on that fast because we were hearing reports that it could have been July 6th before we got our electric back on.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that you got your power back also! i can't imagine being 8 months pregnant and having no power.
All i know is that having no power with a 4 year old and a 3 month old was no picnic.
I can't wait to read more about your baby shower!
I want another kid just so I can do these cute updates! Haha. I am so glad I could attend your shower. I thought it went great and I loved your dress! You defiently got alot of stuff but that's a good thing!
