little seal of bright fame

I'd like to take the time to make an awesome announcement:

Baby Q is a
squirming,
kicking,
waving,
healthy,
perfect...

.
.
.
.
little BOY!

we had our anatomy scan yesterday morning (which, btw, was the COOLEST thing I've ever seen), and it was very clear that the nugget is a boy. I was shocked! I was convinced (from around week 8) that it was a girl. I've even been calling him by our girl name for the last few weeks and referencing him as "her, she, etc." woops!

we had absolutely no preference, and just to learn how healthy he is made me super emotional. we got to see him move around and kick his long legs out. he was being stubborn (typical) and facing my back, but he reacted to me pushing on him and laying on my side. it was just so awesome to see how much he's developed since the last time we got to take a peek. his heart, kidneys, umbilical cord, brain, etc are all working perfectly and he's measuring right on track.

the truth? I am sorta kinda relieved that we're having a boy. although I really didn't care what sex we were having, I was a little nervous about the possibility of having a girl. I've grown up around boys, and I feel like I have a good handle on them to a certain extent. also? I hate the color pink.

seriously, though. I could not be prouder. I'm a worrier by nature, and just knowing that he is healthy makes me squee in delight.

his name will be Ronin Robert. Ronin means "little seal" and Robert (which also happens to be Sean's father's name) means "bright fame."

  1. SO exciting!!! I wouldn't have a big preference if I was pregnant I'd want a healthy baby but I lean toward boys! Congrats!!!
